we can say he's a good passer, and he is, but having your point guard shoot that poorly is bad news. comparing him to the one guy that managed to make shooting poorly work is a bit of a stretch imo

Ball's historically awful first 20 games will sink his averages all year, but he's been fine over the last 15 games.

I don't know where to find splits for custom time periods, but since December 1st, he's above 42% from field, 36% from 3 on around 6 attempts per game, for a true shooting percentage over .520.

.520 TS is not particularly good. Would land him in a 4 way the for 305th in the lg

If you go to the advanced filters on the main NBA site you can get splits by calendar date

https://stats.nba.com/players/advanced/ ... _PCT&dir=1

Thanks for the links.

Yeah, Ball's shooting hasnt been great, but it's fine for a point guard who does other things well. Ball's TS the last 15 games is better than a bunch of other contributors' career values (Kidd, Wiggins, Wade, Iguadala, Bradley). It's not a big cause for concern to me, and I'd still draft him in the top 5 if the draft was re-done. His inability to get to the line/draw contact will be a big limiting factor for him in his medium-term development. But he'll probably put on weight and improve there.

The Net ratings of the team in 1st half vs. 2nd half are eye opening. Ben, Bayless, McConnell, and Saric fall off the map in the 2nd half. Everyone does to be fair but those guys really plummet. Defense and rebounding get worse. I think teams have that extra gear and better bench that this team does not.

Fultz is the complete opposite it seems: out of shape, mopey, looks drunk when he runs, who knows about his shooting, his drives to the basket were blocked more often than not, clear mental issues, questionable drive, etc.

Facts just twist the takes around.

I don't understand why they are going to let Fultz play in a game if he still shoots like this.

Am told Markelle Fultz still has to go through an entire practice without any restrictions before returning. Could be any day.

He still shoots like this.

I don't understand how Colangelo can keep his job after this. It's his only move of note and it's a disaster. Are they really going to let this guy go into free agency? If he doesn't get Lebron he's going to make some sort of panic move to try to save his job.

How is this Collars fault?
I know everything about Sixers.

My word means more than a paper.

My guess is those that think it is mental think that Ainge and Boston medical staff figured out he was a head case before the draft.

I don't care what it is. Colangelo traded two lottery picks for this guy. If it doesn't work out he needs to go. He got handed this job by his dad and has done nothing to show he deserves it in a year and a half.

Don't think they would fire him until he at least fires Brown and brings in his own guy. Also they aren't going to consider Fultz a bust for a few years so he plenty of time.

He traded one future pick (non #1 overall) for the consensus number one player. Good trade. Didn't work out. .

They've established a precedent that a guy following a good process isn't enough to keep his job.

Is the league intervening again? So why would his job be in jeopardy

A lot of people had Fultz #1 but it wasn't a slam dunk and most had him in a similar tier to Ball and Tatum. Fultz was never considered a generational talent from what I was reading, just most people thought he would be a better fit for the Sixers than the other guys.

Fultz has plenty of time to pan out but it was definitely a risky move, especially with how bad they knew the Lakers would be.
