With cause, I'd say. Sending Johnson back after the rain delay is the sort of action that, had Manuel done it to Hamels, would have inspired many of us to see if we could arrange to have his legs broken.

Yea, but they should have just put him under the knife over the winter, and he wouldn't have lost 2 seasons of development time.

The broadcast team on ESPN last night during the Giants-Braves game proposed that Barry Zito may be injured. He's been getting worse as the season goes on (6.75 ERA in July) and is throwing 83 mph fastballs and has lost control of his curve. (UCL?)

No Towers: The Phillies made an offer to the Blue Jays for pitcher Josh Towers on Saturday, and it wasn't to the Blue Jays' liking. That ended discussions between the teams about the 30-year-old right-hander, who will earn $2.9 million this season.

"Nothing's going to happen with Philly," Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi said.

philaphans

they said the following (one of the posters)

look for the phils to complete a deal with the pirates for 1 or 2 of their relievers. Marte and Armes are the names I am hearing. like Marte, would rather have torres.

Yeah Marte's ERA is only 3 runs lower. .274 OPS against lefties

Is this person legit?

Olney reported on Sportscenter that the Mets want Luis Castillo bad. They wish to have a Reyes/Castillo combination at the stop of the lineup.
