2017 NBA Draft

2017 NBA Draft

Postby nycphils » Sun Mar 19, 2017 6:13 pm

Watching the tourney, about time it had its owns thread.

Sixers picks:

1st round pick – 76ers or Kings (Sixers get better of their own pick or Kings pick).
1st round pick – Lakers (unless it falls in the top 3, then it becomes unprotected in 2018).
2nd round pick – Mavs
2nd round pick – Heat (protected 31-40, then becomes unprotected in 2018)
2nd round pick – The most favorable pick out of Golden State, New York, Detroit, and Utah.
2nd round pick – Hawks (unless Atlanta’s pick is worse than all of Golden State, New York, Detroit, and Utah. Then the Sixers will get the worst pick out of those 4).

Assuming the Sixers can stop winning, they should end up at 5th or 6th - better not let the Knicks pass them.

If so should pick at worst 7th or 6th, and a decent shot at two picks in the top 6.

Enough analysts are saying this is a bad move that I bet he reconsiders. The argument is his playing time won't increase that much with A&M's returning players and he's in the lottery right now. Has until 4/23 to reconsider.

He should ask Ivan Raab how it worked out for him.

Does anyone know or found information on how the new CBA with 2 way deals may affect the draft?

Does Austin Nichols declaring count for Virginia? He played 1 game for us before getting kicked off the team.

The teams currently in the 2nd through 9th spots in the lottery have lost a combined 22 games in a row (With the Kings and Knicks playing right now). Tank is on.

Wolves have THREE more games against the lakers. *hopefully* they should be out of the picture.

New Givony mock:

01 BOS (BKN) = Fultz
02 LAL = Ball
03 PHX = Jo.Jackson
04 ORL = Tatum
05 PHI = Monk
06 SAC = Fox
07 NY = Smith Jr
08 MIN = Markkanen
09 SAC (NO) = Isaac
10 DAL = Ntilikina
11 CHA = Bridges
12 POR = Ju.Jackson
13 CHI = Ferguson
14 MIA = Collins
------
15 DEN = Anunoby
16 DET = Donovan Mitchell
17 MIL = Justin Patton
18 IND = Isaiah Hartenstein
19 ATL = Rabb
20 OKC = Tyler Lydon
21 POR (MEM) = Rodions Kurucs
22 TOR = T.J. Leaf
23 ORL (LAC) = Luke Kennard
24 BKN (WSH) = Giles
25 UTA = Johnathan Motley
26 BKN (BOS) = Jawun Evans
27 POR (CLE) = Semi Ojeleye
28 LAL (HOU) = Adebayo
29 SA = Caleb Swanigan
30 UTA (GS) = Anzejs Pasecniks

The 76ers are still trying to figure out their point-guard spot, where Ben Simmons may end up spending quite a bit of time offensively. With that in mind, it makes sense to draft a big-time, shot-making guard like Monk, who has no issues operating off the ball. He can score in bunches, stretch the floor for the streaky shooting Simmons and Dario Saric, and defend point guards, where his average length suits him best.
