2017 NBA Draft

To me it makes sense for them to do the 5 and 10 deal for #2 if they don't love Ball. If they are truly going after PG and LeBron they are going to want to have some guys to fill in around them and with 5 and 10 they can accomplish that since they won't have a pick next year.

Celtics finally received Josh Jackson's medicals, but he still won't workout for Boston. C's still debating but appear to be leaning Tatum

Great, Jayson Tatum is a better name to chant to taunt the Celtics as Fultz is dropping 40 on then.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Apparently they turned down the lakers. Lakers wanted to send the 10 in a deal for PG13.

He's pretty much what they need in terms of rebounding, a big capable of switching and someone who will provide some rim protection. He would be a very nice fit between Hayward and horford.

He's way too raw to be of much immediate help.

I think that makes sense for them since they don't have many minutes for prospects

Yeah, I go back and forth. I think Isaac has a lot of upside. He's certainly raw offensively, but he can be an energy guy off the bench that provides defense, and can roll to the rim. He could be a poor man's Nerlens Noel from day 1... a little less impact defensively, with some ability to shoot from the outside.

Tatum is most NBA ready for them. I think they just go that way.

That would be great - Tatum is Jah 2.0 ina slightly smaller package. Not an explosive athlete, turnover prone, uses an array of moves to score, not really a shooter off the catch (i.e. more of an ISO player/ball stopper), defensively challenged with inconsistent intensity on the defense end at best.

Good luck Celts!

Jeff Goodman was just on the Russillo Show and said Dennis Smith Jr. was late to the media day today because he overslept.

Spurs supposedly trying to trade Aldridge and get a top-10 pick

also they extended a QO to Jonathan Simmons which is kind of a no-brainer but at least means Danny Green is more likely to be traded

Chad Ford says the Nets have a promise to DJ Wilson, and some Nets guy says Wilson has a promise from either the Nets or Jazz

I bet the Celtics take Jackson. I believe the reports from before that Ainge really wants him. Reports are that Jackson not working out for them was because Jackson wouldn't do it.

As someone who watched a lot of both in their respective one year of college, I disagree. Not on the overall profile (both were quite lazy on D, although Tatum wasn't as bad as Jah), but on Tatum's polish as a scorer versus Okafor. A lot of Jah's success at Duke came from him simply being bigger and stronger than most college post defenders. He had an array of post moves and was good at passing out of doubles, but that was it.

Tatum can and does score from anywhere. He's really good at ISO ball, but that's hardly the full sum of his offensive game. He works really well out of the high post, for example, and is a very good finisher on the break.

I really hope so but don't see how the Celtics can't beat that offer, unless Ainge won't let go of the final Brooklyn pick

Can the Suns eat contract(s)?

Ainge must honestly think he can get Anthony davis. Otherwise I'm not sure what he is waiting for.
