I haven't the foggiest idea why the Phillies would want any part of Stanton's contract, given the team they have, and are likely to have, for the next 18 months.

Yes please. He's 27. The next 6 or 7 years should be solid. Willing to risk the last few years for that kind of power and discipline and nor have the pressure to HAVE to sign Harper or Trout to succeed.

Tuesday is national refugee day and Wednesday is international yoga day. I hope MLB has some more alternate uniforms ready

2nd half will be better so we'll end up losing about 105

1. Saunders will be gone, Altherr plays the extra month he didn't play in 1st half and Odubel will hit as normal
2. Williams will be up and will play, though Kendrick will be gone so not a plus to be fair
3. Starting pitching CANT be worse - Vazquez comes back, Nola for full second half
4. Therrien and Milner will be up in back end of the pen, Jenmar will be gone
5. Franco will be better than the first half
6. Knapp will end up the nominal starter at C, will continue to hit
7. Maybe Joseph gets dealt and Hoskins comes up

1. Saunders will be gone, Altherr plays the extra month he didn't play in 1st half and Odubel will hit as normal -- i thought i remember that they were decent in april and saunders was playing then. didn't altherr start playing in may? yes he's produced pretty much the whole time, but the phils haven't been winning since then.

7. Maybe Joseph gets dealt and Hoskins comes up - joseph's been their 2nd or 3rd best producer offensively after altherr and maybe kendrick depending how you look at it.

Joseph as 3rd most productive is like Placing at an idiots convention.

Jokes aside, he had an awful April, great May and mediocre June. Maybe Hoskins can produce more steadily - certainly will add more patience to the lineup.

But not much of a reason to suspect the team will perform better.

Joseph's been fine. he's not the problem. he can certainly be upgraded in the future, but I wouldn't look to him being dealt as a big factor in improving in the 2nd half.
I confess that I have never seen Markelle Fultz play a basketball game and I was not at his 76ers workout Saturday in Camden

Not saying he's a problem or certainly not THE problem. Only that there are likely to be enough changes/upgrades that we don't lose 115-120 games notwithstanding today's pace.

And now, a collection of Phillies hitters’ slash lines with Aaron Judge’s .431 BABIP, with the difference made up solely in singles:
Altherr: .346/.412/.605
Odubel: .333/.363/.485
Joseph: .344/.392/.531
Franco: .384/.431/.529
Saunders: .365/.407/.520
