these guys should hit it as hard as him!
I confess that I have never seen Markelle Fultz play a basketball game and I was not at his 76ers workout Saturday in Camden

I've read some white papers supporting a correlation between PISSRODS and HITZ

In the summer of 1997 I spent a lonely summer as the only Phillies plan in the world (so far as I could tell) pulling for their improbable avoidance of a 100 loss season after beginning the year 24-61. Wound up going 44-33 after the ASB, second only to the Yankees. True fact: in the 162 games starting from the day after the ASB through into the next season, the Phillies were 90-72, capped by a memorable win I was at over the Pirates, where me and 500 of my best friends hung around after a rain delay to see the Phillies stage a thrilling comeback win in the bottom of the 9th and turn a 7-1 deficit into an 8-7 victory. I felt sure I was on the front end of their meteoric rise.

It was not to be.

Yup. IIRC mark lewis lead off the ninth with a hit to extend a modest hitting streak and that would've been enough for me.

not the harry call unfortunately

That game was in 98, it was a day after I graduated high school, me and my friends were going to go there and head to wildwood right after the game but decided to skip the game because of the rain and headed down the shore.

And yeah it was against the pirates, pretty sure this game put them at .500 for the season in mid June, which was exciting in 1998

I remember the Harry call of this homer because you could hear Wheels in the background making some weird chuckling noise and whatever girl that worked on CSN (I think it was Leslie Gudel) couldn't stop laughing at Wheels call on sports nite after the game

Interested to see if Perkins can hold his own in the bigs - hope they give him some PT before Hernandez comes back.

I have a long and specific memory of the sequence of events from the game, as it is still the most memorable live event I have ever attended, World Series included. It was just such a delightful surprise for such a small group of people. My buddy and I are visible in the 98 highlight video forvlieberthal's post game curtain call.

Also buh-bye Jeanmar and Saunders.

If he can do decently, he be a nice bench bat - hopefully reasonable contact and can play all three outfield spots
