The league will vote in December to approve a Seattle expansion team for the 2020-21 season pending updates to KeyArena

The NHL has named MGM Resorts the first official sports betting partner of the League.


Not a lot of details on what they’ll be doing but it sounds interesting

I saw a report that said NHL is all in on embracing sports gambling.

From the NHL's end, they'll be cashing a check.

The two big functional takeaways were:
a) the league is close to rolling out player tracking data that will legitimately be huge for the sport, and that data obviously has value to sportsbooks
b) the NHL is basically giving teams the green light to go forward with deals of their own

For example, the Devils announced a deal last week to open a William Hill sports betting lounge inside the arena. It's basically a sportsbook minus the betting windows, but they have staff on hand to help you set up your app for mobile wagering. It's a model the Flyers could easily replicate at WFC.
