Whoops. Two WS for the Phillies. A senior moment.
The first sport that I heard talked up around the house was football and the Eagles. My Grandfather loved the game. Raved about Steve van Buren all the time. I recall him being excited when the Birds got Adrian Burk. "now we have a real QB." Lots of Eagles chatter at the dinner table but it didn't mean all that much to me. We watched baseball on the tv when I was four. For some reason, Gramps like the Giants and the A's, not the Phillies.

i'm not as big a fan of Romo as everyone seems to be

‘This is exactly the kind of game the Rams want’

Tony Romo, with four minutes to go in the first half and the Rams with 49 total yards.
Not everything I think is something I should say.

He was talking about being within three points. For as bad as the offense played their defense played really well.

being a mid-stater who starter watching sports in the 70s, the steelers were my first nfl allegience. they won 4 lombardi trophies as my favorites, 2 as my second favorites.

my dad grew up as a philadelphia a's fan, my first live mlb game was an a's-o's game in baltimore, and the a's always have been my second favorite mlb team. their 3 70's championships (and mustaches) are my earliest baseball memories, and i was just telling one of my students (born in san fran) about my memories of the world series earthquake in 89.

lastly, i lucked into the chance to share the joy of denver fans first finally getting their first championship of any kind just after the avalanche moved there, and then the big celebrations when elway gave them the first two trophies they really wanted.

Seems like the media reaction following the game has been a meh whatever whats next moving into the off season. Guess we were due for a down Super Bowl after the last few.
