I know fugees has a thread for an insider they have. Thought it might be a good thread for 702 and Shadow to post in especially with these megastars still available.

If I hear something I'm just gonna post it in the regular threads. My info comes from one person, and reporters who cover baseball all have several sources, some executives(GMs directly), some agents, some players. So everyone is going to get different info, especially people whose job it is to report. I'm nobody special, I get tidbits here and there, I don't think it's worthy of having a thread dedicated to it.

What I've heard all along is that the Phillies are interested in both. That doesn't mean they will sign both, it could just mean whoever takes their money first is the guy they will get. Salisbury and Gelb have reported Machado is their top guy. Heyman and Nightengale have reported Harper is their top guy. There's clearly info out there from both sides, which makes me feel confident what I heard is right, and tbh I'm not sure there is any true preference that stands out. They really love both, that's what I know. Nightengale said today it's only the White Sox for Machado and I have not heard that the Phillies have backed out of the Machado sweepstakes at all. I don't think they've backed out on anyone period, including other guys not named Harper and Machado. If reporters who do this for a living can't shake free anymore info than what's out there right now, it'll be mission impossible for me to, but if I hear something, I'll share in the regular thread.

Bumping this thread because neither is at Spring Training yet, and I don't like the "random Phillies thoughts" type threads. It's a Phillies message board, and if your thought is worthy of a post, it's worthy of a thread.

(Does my attitude help or hurt my case for the HoF? I think it should. I'd think real Phillies fans would like to see the main board dominated by threads about the Phillies, and not a bunch of dumb stuff about a football team that is currently doing nothing interesting.)

Occasionally I love browsing the FUGEES and they have threads titled like "WE SUCK SMOKED ASS" and the OP is just "#$!&@"
