Trading deadline is one week away, next Sunday, Aug 14. I'm making Julio Teheran available, but I'm looking for a true ACE SP in return. Teheran will be cheap keeper for someone next year, but I want to do all I can to win this year, considering where I am in the standings. Will consider adding Posey, or any pitcher not named Hamels or Kershaw.

meh, I didn't draft a single closer. By opening day, I had 3. Now, I have 1. Lots of "holders," though.

That would have really sucked if that Red Sox game didn't get finished. Had a ton of stats from Pedroia/Ortiz/Bedard and the game got delayed 3 outs before it became official. Still lost a win because of it though. Damn weather!!!!

There's an increasing chance that I'm not going to make the playoffs because I forgot to move my starting pitchers into my starting lineup 2 weeks ago. I'll be pretty annoyed at myself if that happens.

Congrats bleh and lethal for locking up some money for finishing 1-2 in the regular season. You guys also get a bye for the first round of the playoffs.

Just for fun, here are all the trades and who won/lost, based on the results as far as I am vaguely aware of them.

4/5 Justin Morneau & Domonic Brown to dajafi
Rajai Davis & Chris Perez to FTN
winner = Perez = only good player. FTN

4/5 Luke Scott to Stripes
Sean Marshall to dajafi
winner = dajafi

4/27 Ryan Dempster & Joe Nathan to Warszawa
Hunter Pence & Edwin Jackson to bleh
winner = bleh :h: Pence :h:

4/27 Michael Young & Chris Carpenter to Warszawa
Lance Berkman & Shaun Marcum to Rico
winner = both?

5/26 Jhonny Peralta & Prince Fielder to bleh
Ryan Roberts & Ben Zobrist & Brett Lawrie to Werthless
winner=both? Although this will probably help Werthless more in the future.

5/30 Chase Utley to ReadingPhilly
Brian McCann to Stripes
winner = both

5/31 Darwin Barney & Chris Perez to Warszawa
Aaron Hill & David Robertson to FTN
This is basically Robertson for Perez. Tie?

6/5 B.J. Upton to bleh
C.J. Wilson to FTN
winner = FTN

6/7 Adam Dunn to dajafi
Nick Swisher to bleh
winner = bleh (sorry dajafi :lol: )

6/12 Miguel Cabrera & Anthonny Rizzo to Longdrive
Joey Votto to Werthless
winner = Votto has been better. Werthless.

6/13 Grady Sizemore & Jimmy Rollins to dajafi
Jayson Werth to Warszawa
winner = probably dajafi despite Rollins being on the DL

7/8 Miguel Cabrera to FTN
Hosmer & Moustakas & Jemile Weeks to Longdrive
winner = FTN.

7/19 Gaby Sanchez & Denard Span to ReadingPhilly
Shin-Soo Choo & Martin Prado to FTN
winner = FTN

7/29 Matt Holliday & Eric O'Flaherty & Matt Cain to BigErn
Jacoby Ellsbury to hoya
keeper for win-now trade. winner = both.

7/30 Craig Kimbrel & Rafael Soriano to bleh
Adam Wainwright to hoya
winner = both. I think I could have gotten more for Wainwright, but the only other good players on non-contending teams weren't upgrades on my own players.

8/3 Madson to FTN
David Robertson to bleh
so far Robertson has been better, but depends on the playoffs

8/14 Posey to ReadingPhilly
Haren to Stripes
winner = both? depends on how Haren does in playoffs.

:(

Now that regular season is over, possible changes to next year:
1. Roster changes will be applied following day.
2. If Yahoo ever offers option, go back to "Doubles+Triples" as category.
3. Trade review length shortened.
4. Waiver length shortened?

Other ideas:
5. Add number of starting positions (MI, CI, 4th OF)? Probably need to add to Salary Cap if we did that.
6. Increase minimum IP limit from 15?
7. Second place in regular season gets more money?
8. I've seen some leagues do public trade reviews where, if someone is traded, say Ben Zobrist for Ryan Roberts, then other teams can post offers for Ben Zobrist. If the guy trading Ben Zobrist is then offered Joey Votto, then the trade becomes Ben Zobrist for Joey Votto. I dunno if you guys would like that... it seems like it would entail a number of headaches. I've never been in a league with it.

Anything else?

3. Trade review length shortened.
4. Waiver length shortened?

1. I'm ok with how it is now for the most part, but if most people prefer that then fine
2. yes
3. As long as it goes through in 2 days or less I'm ok with whatever.
4. I think the current length is perfect.

5. Add number of starting positions (MI, CI, 4th OF)? Probably need to add to Salary Cap if we did that.
6. Increase minimum IP limit from 15?
7. Second place in regular season gets more money?

5. I'm kinda against this. I like how it mirrors a real roster/lineup currently. And it's already hard getting 9 good players with 12 teams.
6. I've never seen any problem with this. If people want to concede K's and W's, that's a-ok by me.
7. I do think the money should be spread around differently. I think it would be good if more people could be winners. Like maybe 1-4 in the regular season should get paid, and give slightly less emphasis to the playoffs.
8. unsure

Now that regular season is over, possible changes to next year:
1. Roster changes will be applied following day. Yes please
2. If Yahoo ever offers option, go back to "Doubles+Triples" as category. How about total bases, or even slugging pct?(would give us 2 ratios batting, to match 2 ratios pitching)
3. Trade review length shortened.
4. Waiver length shortened? 3 and 4 are fine as they are, IMO

Other ideas:
5. Add number of starting positions (MI, CI, 4th OF)? Probably need to add to Salary Cap if we did that. Yahoo default settings have a 2nd UT spot. ESPN leagues haave a MI and CI, but standard is only 10 teams
6. Increase minimum IP limit from 15? Indifferent
7. Second place in regular season gets more money? How about this year? :)
Sounds like a big headache. Should be up to the owner making the trade to get the best return possible. Besides, the "better" offer may not fill a position or category the owner is seeking.

What's good about the current stats is there isn't a lot of redundancy. SLG and HR are usually going to be aligned pretty much. Whereas 2b+3b and HRs are separate things.

But how about replacing wins with QS? Not sure that would be better or not, but wins are kinda annoying.

Yahoo sucks. They left off all stats from yesterday and still haven't updated the brackets for this week.
