Bonerface fails at bunting with two runners on and no out, so he grounds into a double play instead

I think it depends on the gun, but most of the radar guns used give an "average" speed of the ball as it leaves the pitcher's hand and then when it gets within 10 feet of the plate. Or something like that.

Sorry I had to cut out before I could clarify my question, and thanks for the answers.

My question is pretty elementary because I'm pretty much an idiot about this: If pitch speed is measured at 96.8 mph (or 96.9 for that matter), does that show up as a 96 mph pitch or a 97 mph pitch? How about 96.5? Are radar guns calibrated to measure in tenths of a mph (or even greater precision) or simply in whole miles/h?

I'm not trying to make a point here, just trying to understand things better so if I do later on it's not totally misinformed.
Which part? And who are you?

Most guns go to 1 decimal I think

pitchfx (ie, the guns installed at stadiums for mlb gameday) have 1 decimal point.
