Even better when you consider the teams they were playing.

Big Rockies win, too, in terms of NLDS home field -- hurt the Cardinals and Braves.

It's rookie hazing day according to Zolecki:
Ah, rookie hazing. Escalona and Mayberry in lady pilot costumes for the flight back to Philly. Happ is Superwoman. Costumes don't fit right.

Yep. And his OBP is at .292. Highest it's been is .295 back on August 12. He'd have to go on a serious tear to get it up to .300.

He must have had the most consistent BA in baseball for the last 2 months. It was been between .240 & .247 since August 4th until today.

Poor Happ must've been through this 3 times now.

edit: well 2 times. They dressed him as a roman soldier last year.

3 more wins please. So it occured to me tonight that perhaps, deep down inside, the Phillies players really wanted to clinch at home. Hmmm...

I went to the game today. Not much to comment on about the game, but Miller Park is pretty cool. And apparently, every Phillies phan in attendance (and there were ALOT of us) sat in LF, or 3B. I alone probably started about 5 "Let's Go Phillies" chants. At one point, this Brewers fan to my left and up a few rows had a "chant-off", or something. I would start "Let's Go Phillies", and then he would follow up with a louder "Let's Go Brewers". This went on about 5 times each. Good times.

Did anyone even read this? Ah well, I had fun today.

and SPEAKING OF BUCKY...

I sauntered downstairs and enjoyed a quick 1/2 inning of "Mario Super Sluggers". Then The Kid announced that I had promised to take him to the Roosevelt Mall* today (I had), so the 7 year old and I had to high tail it out of Plymouth Meeting in order to get there and back in time for my nephew's birthday party at 6.

But you guys did a great and entertaining job of bringing home the victory (aside from the doomsday posts, which was probably around 60%). Thanks to TD24 for coming through with the BRL!

*- He loves just driving around and checking out the area. He's got a great memory and sense of direction and knows street names and his way around better than most adults. Loves maps and has been to pretty much every mall in the region. Driving around yesterday, he asked "How come there are no malls in Philadelphia?". I mentioned the gallery and Roosevelt mall- so he said he wanted to go to the latter. And, for the record, the Rooselevelt Mall is really lousy- more like an overgrown shopping center with a couple big department stores nearby. Not even an Auntie Anne's!!!
