You'd like the way mrs. smitty makes it. Uses real Irish butter and cheese and nice corned beef. If you're ever in town we'll feed you some and you can judge.

I've got an old Irish aunt up out in Seattle. I'll put it on the itinerary for my future cross-country trip.

Cool. We'll have the colcannon ready.

the best saint patrick's day I ever had involved me and a load of other london-based irish folk (north and south of the border) knocking off to brick lane for a curry.

the worst saint patricks day I can remember was myself and my mate back in dublin after an enjoyable 2 day bender down the countryside with american radio djs promoting some guinness competition (don't ask) and the two of us frantically trying to get across town with the poxy parade to make a pub to watch the old firm game. The pub was closed, the bar we ended up in was #$!&@ and the old firm game was, well, an old firm game.

that day sucked.

Today is probably my best so far. I'm not sure if it'll hold up or end in disaster, but it's pretty damn good.

I don't know if this is my worst or second-best, but five years ago I was a 20 year-old Penn State junior getting piss drunk watching college ball, went to dinner at West Halls as an intermission for drinking, then came back, slammed a couple drinks and went to a free sketch comedy show on campus written by members of the campus humor magazine I wrote for. I didn't remember much of it, got a ride back to my dorm, met up with friends at a random frat party, danced with girls and drank some free beer, got a little handsy on the dance floor, punched some celing tiles, got carried back to my dorm across the street, texted a FWB that I "ducking" loved her and woke up on the floor tied up in my comforter covered in my own vomit.

I'm gonna lean toward second-best.

My cousin is a white kid from Montclair who lives in Queens now

It's parent/teacher conferences night in the Bronx for him

He's so angry

I keep wanting to send taunting texts about how awesome the games are. He'd do the same for me. I'm rising above so far.

I was there on Saturday. It was pretty douchey, and 4.50 for a Miller Lite. And they advertised it as if it were a special!
