You're quite a catch. It'd be nuts for them to pick a lax guy over the summer intern.

Let those girls know that someday those lacrosse guys will be working for you. Which is a lie, of course, since they'll be working for their friend's Dad's insurance company, since he was a lacrosse guy too.
Which part? And who are you?

Trying that out on the internet before I apply it to real life. Wish me luck.

Hmm. Could have something to do with the fact that you expend much more energy when you run that needs to replaced by means of food (i.e. calories). But I ain't no Mr. Wizard or nothing.

I think bury me's point is that burning 500 or even 1000 calories via running or whatever causes a disproportionate increase in appetite. I definitely find this to be true.

Another good reason not to run. Besides making you tired, it makes you hungry. Who needs that?

right, which is why im debating running at all, because the amount of food is cancelling out most of the good effects. it shouldnt be hard to change when i eat, if i force myself.

Just heard a woman on the news being described as "one of the best conductors in the world". Didn't realize there was a huge gap between "best conductor" and "worst conductor", and who are these worst conductors?

Well, don't forget that the running will up your metabolism throughout the day so you're burning more calories even when you're not running. And you continue to burn fat up to an hour after you run. So even if you burn 500 calories while running, the after burn is going to be more. But look into HIIT which, from everything I've read, allows you to continue burning fat up to 24 hours after you workout if you're doing it the way you're supposed to. I've found it to be very effective for me. And like Pratt said, what you're eating makes a big difference. But I guess all that is for the fitness thread.
