Always the way to go. You need the fat, but oil seeps into and thus ruins the bread. Mayo every time

gotta get a hard sesame seed roll. that keeps the texture component alive. vinegar goes great with the veggies that get put on the sandwich. cuts through the fatty and saltiness of the meats.

do you know nothing of balance?

A college buddy of mine enjoys peanut butter, lettuce and mayo sandwiches. Never had one, myself.

I can see, though, that it could work if you consider peanut butter to be a protein.

Mayo on an Italian hoagie should be criminalized.

If I'm getting an Italian hoagie to eat in entirety right away, I'll go oil and vinegar. If I expect to eat half now and half later, I'll get mayo, because otherwise it gets soggy.

It depends on the meat-mayo works with roast beef, turkey, or pork loin, or tuna, but who gets a tuna hoagie? Ham and cold cuts take oil and vinegar or mustard.
