If you're not singing this thread like you're the Scorpions you're doing it wrong.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

SPEAKING OF LOOTERS, there were apparently a couple hooligans going around the neighborhood last night breaking into cars.

Houston must be feeling like last week's ghosted girlfriend. Guess everything's pretty much spruced up and taken care of.

Really don't understand all the fuss. So far I have 0.03 inches of rain and peak winds of 15 mph. Even braved the storm to get my mail!

Ultimately the US government should take care of both the states and territories first regarding the recovery from both hurricanes. With that being said, this is the time to normalize relations with Cuba. Venezuela and Russia are pretty much out of the picture and unless you want china to fill the void, it's time to step up to the plate. Unfortunately under the current administration, I don't think that will happen.

Couldn't decide to put this here, the guns or the Florida thread:

Patient at a hospital becomes an active shooter. Fired on fatally by multiple officers. Rumored to be an evacuee from Florida.

My power just came back on. The nightmare is over! Of course, I just finished eating a lame peanut butter sandwich since I couldn't cook anything.

I was looking around to information on Houston/Texas current conditions. Pre-Irma there were plenty of places reported as still underwater. Houston itself seems to have dried out, but Houston was not the epicenter, just the largest, most photogenic location (fly overs, big buildings, etc.). I imagine that there are still a lot of places that are in a really bad way.

Only winners in all this are auto, and building supply manufacturers.

Was talking with my dad who is over in Clearwater. Apparently as of yesterday gas was still in short supply and the cops had to be called to break up fights at the local WaWa. People be crazy.

Did he have power? Gas seems to be less of a problem then the ability to safely pump it via electric pump. Really the ability to do anything with electric. My mother-in-law is in the middle of no where Florida with 90+ degree heat, broastering humidity, no electric, and questionable water. She insists she is fine, and has supplies, which is backed up by a family member dropping in on her, but it would be better for her to come north for a bit. I am willing to put down dime bring my mother-in-law up and on putting her in my house for a few weeks -- which speaks to a level of concern.
