It's colder outside then it is in the fridge. In fact, it's colder outside then it is in the freezer. My freezer stays at about 0 F to -5F or so. When I got up it was -13 outside.

This is just what we need. I get my nat gas from DTE Energy, not Consumers Energy, but if you read down DTE Energy is also recommending customers lower their thermostat.

https://www.mlive.com/news/2019/01/heat-interruptions-possible-if-residents-dont-turn-down-thermostats-utility-says.html

JACKSON, MI – Officials turned up the urgency late Wednesday night in their call for residents to turn down the heat.

Emergency messages were sent to cellphones across the Lower Peninsula and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer took to Facebook to urge residents to turn down their thermostats. The messages came amid fears of a natural gas shortage caused by extraordinarily high demand coupled with a fire at a Consumers Energy facility.

Heat interruptions could result if residents and businesses don’t act to reduce natural gas usage, Consumers Energy CEO Patti Poppe said in an interview late Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Exactly, I would leave. It is too cold there.

Fog is my favorite weather, because of the way it makes the world ambiguous. But my second favorite weather event is when the day starts out warm and gets cooler. Today we're supposed to have one of those days. It's currently about 70, but that big front will push through soon and the temps should be about 60 by lunch and about 50 when I head home. I can already feel cooler air coming in through my windows.

I was beginning to think that this winter has passed us by pretty quietly, which is especially surprising since it was almost unanimous among weather people that this would be the worst winter of all time.

Everything in closed in the DMV. As of last night the plan was 4-8 inches starting at 0300. @ 0500 there has been no precipitation. Local news is showing Pikes Peak, CO with its 8+ feet snow drifts, and flipped cars in Wichita, KS. Current temp? 36. I'm ready to call it a fraud.

snow started just after 6. It has been coming down hard to make up for lost time. The question is when does it shift to rain? Apparently the trick will be to shovel before the rain.
