Just be glad you're not still being audited like our President.

Think I have to request an extension. Packed things away for the warranty work on the house and haven't uncovered everything. Giving myself until tomorrow morning.

Anyone use the credit karma service?

Mini PTK post incoming.

My company switched payroll providers in December which caused us for some reason to stop paying our local non-resident EIT where we work (0.5%) and start paying Philly Wage Tax. Our payroll provider said 'lol sorry nothing we can do you have to figure it out in your taxes' so I asked a friend for an accountant recommendation and got one.

I painstakingly explained the situation to them. They completed my taxes and I looked at my local tax. They had it filled out so I would only pay the non-resident Philly rate instead of resident because they thought I worked in Philadelphia even though I clearly told them I don't and never have. So now they re-did it and my local refund is basically for every dollar I paid at my work rate (0.5%). My local 'refund' should not be any larger than the wage tax taken out in December so that set off alarm bells. I have now emailed them three times asking to explain it and basically said:

Jan-November: W2 #1, X dollars paid - this is all correct
Dec: W2 #2, Y dollars paid - this was to philadelphia at 3.9%. I need to pay my real local tax at 0.5% and petition Philadelphia for a refund.

No response at all. Also my federal/state amount owed hasn't been withdrawn from my checking account yet so I have no idea if they've even #$!&@ filed that.

On that note, say I have paid more local taxes than I should have but I think that they went to the wrong place. I need a refund overall but I owe in one location and am owed a refund from another. Am I supposed to pay the one EIT now? It's like 50 bucks but their form isnt really set up right for a situation like this and idk wtf to do. Besides drive to #$!&@ bluebell and scream at some accountants.

The IRS electronic filing system has had stability troubles today.

I was owed money this year. That's not usually the case. Squinted at it for a good long time, but couldn't see anything wrong.

See you in jail.

Well, filed my taxes and for the third straight year I’m getting over $10k back. The IRS has told me for the last three years that I’m not withholding enough and forces me to have a 0 withholding status :|

Too late - filed the extension this morning and switched to finding the DVD with my MRI for my doctor appointment. I can procrastinate for a few more months now.
