i think 1982 was the first year in US history that neither a senator or representative did not die in office. it used to be a common occurrence, today not so much. probably got good health care.

Mars rover Opportunity. It way over performed its expectations staying active 50x longer then expected, but after 14 years it is just another example of humans littering.

Yeah, wasn't too surprised with his health problems over the past couple years, but still a bummer.

The world as we know it already changed as a result of the Donald working for Putin.

2019 is already counted out.

Great player, and often tragic figure. His second act started a little more then 50 years ago when he became a super star for recovery.

This happened to a high school classmate of mine. Got into a car accident, pulled over to side of the road, stepped out of car onto the road, and was struck and killed by a motorist.

It is not a particularly uncommon tragedy, this one is just getting attention because the driver is famous.

The Monkees have won more Emmy awards than Grammy awards.

Happened to my dad, but he wasn't killed. Pretty nasty injury though--18 months in a full leg cast. The only reason he didn't lose his leg was because there was an orthopedic surgeon on call at the ER when he got there--after spending an hour or so with a tourniquet on his leg.
