It looks bad because Hinkie hasn't signed vets to supplement those top 5 picks.

Noel is probably better at basketball, today anyway, than anyone drafted in the last 3 years. Okafor is probably better at basketball, again, today anyway, than anyone drafted this past June. And Embiid was projected as better than either of them when healthy. So the issue isn't that our draft picks are somehow not elite basketball players for their age. Maybe you just need to readjust your expectations of how good "top 5" picks are when they are still 19-21 years old?

Look at the elite players in the NBA: It's Anthony Davis and a bunch of guys 25-30 years old.

Hinkie is banking his 19-21 year olds being able to develop into those elite 25-30 year olds without having to invest in veterans in the meantime.

hes an evil man and every game is like the players actively fighting against his cruel regime. its great drama.

Yeah, I don't think okafor is better now or in the future than KAT and Its debateable between Noel and Wiggins. Noel still looks awkward at best on offense. I'm excited for the team but the reality is they are still more fun in theory than in practice right now. Makes for some tedious watching at times.

I don't know what to make of this team at all right now. I mean they flash talent a lot. I would really like to see what they can do with a full healthy roster (even without Embiid). I mean with Wroten, Marshall and Stauskas. And building up Okafor's minutes. I know Stauskas was supposed to be out like 2-3 weeks. What's the latest ETA on Wroten and Marshall?

Covington upped his defensive rebounding % from 9.3 to 14.6 last year. that's a good trend, because in addition to spacing issues, another concern with a Noel/Okafor front court is rebounding. Noel seems to be trending in the right direction, but he's not a great rebounder, and Okafor is a good offensive rebounder, but a really bad defensive rebounder. I wouldn't be surprised to see Grant start at 3 because he can board better than Cov. Still a really awkward line-up, basically.

It was posted up thread that they are out at least a month per Brown.

It's frustrating, I'm really looking forward to seeing how those guys run the point. I found the Sixers Beat talk about using Wroten mostly when Okafor is out interesting

They've had two top 5 picks bro. Embiid at #3 last year and Okafar at #3 this year.
