Noel is a RFA, right? We can match and keep him, and goodness knows we have the money.

With the diminished value of centers in trade right now I'd keep them both (Jah and Nerlens).
Marquelle Fultz: (6/23) "My goal is to be the best player in the NBA."
Ben Simmons: (8/28) "My goal is to be the best in the league."
Don't fight, Embiid has this covered.

I don't think being able to run with our team in the last few years should be seen as a positive indicator.

I think the hopes of Noel staying are pretty slim and that an Embiid/Noel frontcourt would be too clogged on offense to really be a positive, but it would still be worth it if he could be appeased with 24 minutes a game. you'd have that crazy defense, no offense set-up for 8 minutes or so (maybe you rest the other starters then), your ideal 24 minutes with Embiid, and then with Nerlens playing another quarter at C, you're maintaining great D throughout and a solid second unit offense

but I don't think Nerlens wants to stay

sry okafor, ur #$!&@ out

Rusty Nerlens trying to prove the world wrong is going to be ugly at first. First game will probably be like 1-5 fg, 6 TO's, 4 blocks and fouling out on a 10 min restriction.

Just saying it's a pretty cool and new thing to enjoy watching our second unit

the guy has only fouled out three times in his two years (and had six TOs once)

what's interesting is I think we'll be a pretty good rebounding & defensive team after Christmas with Embiid getting 35 minutes and Ben working his way in. I have to admit, things are looking pretty interesting.

While I believe this to be true, he really has no say in the matter. He's rightfully butthurt right now, but I could see that swinging if some combination of playing time, more consistent wins and an *please god* Okafor deal goes down.

I might have some thoughts on how that might go down...

Got several b2bs coming up

Yesterday/today
Friday/Saturday (Magic and Cs)
Next Monday/Tuesday (nuggets and @grizz)

None after that until after Christmas though, when they're supposedly reevaluating.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

I wonder what the "reevaluation" consists of.

Guys this draft is so good. It was heavily hyped and is more than living up to it so far. That's despite 2 of the top 5 consensus players, Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles, injured and not playing yet. My top 5 would all fit 76ers too (FYI Frankie Vision and ReBorn HD are great youtube stations if you want to watch game highlights of these guys):

1) Markelle Fultz, PG/SG- hearing some D-Wade comps but a better shooter. That's scary. Still shooting 55% and 44% from 3 with the 702 Vegas clunker.
2) Josh Jackson, SF- his defense and competitiveness are ahead of his jump shot but he'd make us better from game 1. Plays with 2 ball hogs so offensive numbers might not pop this year.
3) Lonzo Ball, PG- he's Jason Kidd with a funky shot that just keeps going in. The ball movement with him and Simmons would be Warriors-ish. Would also be nice to have a plus defender at PG that doesn't get blown by every possession.
4) Dennis Smith, Jr.- he's an absolute wizard dribbling the ball and starting to heat up offensively average 26 points last 2 games with 7.5 assists and 2.5 steals. He's smaller than Fultz/Ball but is super athletic and plays tough D.
5) Jayson Tatum, SF- hopefully will be back soon but looks like a stud wing.
5a) Jonathan Isaac, SF- Isaac was supposed to be so raw that he'd take most of the season to get going. Yeah, not the case at all. He's at 15.3 PPG, 6.3 rebs while shooting 60% and 50% from 3 (4 attempts a game too). Crazy plus defense too. Brandon Ingram comps being thrown around because he's skinny and can shoot.

On a related note, the Lakers had a nice win vs Atlanta last night. They have a tough stretch up coming with 4 road games in 5 nights. That 8th seed could come down Kings, Lakers and Portland. I'm rooting for Pelicans and Nuggets to put it together. The 11-20 of this draft is really really good too.

Watch out for Soph PG, Jawun Evans from Ok State too. Top 40 recruit in 2015 and is tearing it up. Not quite as athletic as the other PG's in lottery discussion but dude is shooting 56% from 3 (48% last year). I mean he's at 24.7 PPG, 5.3 assists and almost 3 steals a game. DraftExpress has him at #72 in top 100 but their updated mock has him at #30. Think he'll keep rising.

Meh on De'Aaron Fox. He reminds me of TJ Ford. He's got a slight build and all of his points are on drives. Would love him if the Lakers pick does end up late lottery or mid-1st but not top 10. He'd be an incredible back-up with his speed.

Just making an observation. Simmons seems to be infatuated with Stauskas' sauce.

this team as is has maxed out in its current composition and probably will be until they near the all atar break. I'm still gonna watch embiid but will also probably tune out a little bit otherwise. They need reinforcements and a more cohesive plan because Embiid is destroying every notion of the preventative control they've placed around him. Until they take the shackles off, they're going to remain in a holding pattern
