After a 10 game stretch where we look above average, Sixers fans have taken to harassing en masse journalists on twitter about past, innocuous tweets. probably at the behest of that moron Spike Eskin. I stand by my worst fans in American pro-sports take.

Spike : Bannon :: Embiid : Trump

(Obviously they are peddling different messages...)

Bill Simmons' NBA All Star ballot includes The Process.

He pays Embiid the highest compliment that he knows how- his dad can't get over how good Embiid is.

Doesn't stop him from getting in his daily Sixers potshot:

"But he’s averaging 20 and 8, he’s blocking a shot every 10 minutes, he’s getting to the line eight times a game, and he single-handedly detonated Philly’s ability to tank a fourth straight season. You can’t tank when you have a dominant center; it’s impossible."

A little concerned about Embiids foul rate, especially when his minutes increase, but his game will probably tighten up by then

So we've ensnared Bill Simmons' father and his son, and NBA Superstar Joel Embiid (not Spike Eskin) started the retweets.

Spike is responsible, however, for said superstar's chosen nickname.

i think a lot of players and coaches won't vote for him because of the back-to-back games thing

I predict that he doesn't make it at first but silver puts him in to replace love when he pulls out with an injury.

What are payroll obligations next year? I was just assuming it was next to nothing. What kind of cap spike are we expecting?

Point is, we have so many options. Don't #$!&@ it up Collars

I still can't get over the gay injury. This was a belated Christmas gift for the collar. There was so much uncertainty regarding the lakers pick possibly not conveying, the Kings possibility of making or just missing the playoffs, and the sixers improving to be a below average team. You need three stars in the NBA and free agency is never a sure thing and honestly neither is the draft though. Suddenly that laker pick is now available and can now be wrapped, with one of the bigs, most likely Noel, furkan 2.0 and our first next year. That is a nice package for an all star entering their prime.

You add an all star, get a veteran free agent if it is not going to screw you over cap wise a few years down the road and a top 8 pick that you can bring along slowly... Wow, ready to compete and make some noise with out sacrificing the future. Time to start getting it done.

How would it work if we made the playoffs (or had pick 11-14) and the Kings were in the lottery? We'd get the Kings' lottery pick (obviously), but would our pick then transfer to the Bulls? That'd be the ultimate nut kick for the Kings.

Joel and Noel:
It’s something that’s completely on my mind,” said Brown. “It’s got to be done in an environment where it’s not going to hurt the team. Although it sounds like a no-brainer comment, most times, in the NBA, the matchup isn’t favorable. I think that both Nerlens and Joel, their instincts are to go back to the rim. I think that we’re very vulnerable in transition defense. If it was a half-court sport, you wouldn’t feel as naked when those stretch 4s are on the floor.”

Still, it’s tempting to wonder if a lineup that includes (arguably) two of the top 10 defenders in the NBA could be historically fearsome. Plus, even a paltry 10 minutes of overlap per night would give Noel enough playing time to make the $80 million contract he’ll command this offseason as a restricted free agent easily palatable. The Sixers’ failure to ink Noel to an extension in October might have been a mistake, but retaining him is crucial to preserving the team’s growing identity. Crack open the checkbook and construct a traumatizing defense around Embiid and Noel for the next half-decade. Boom, done.
