6-15 in 1 run games. Um, YUCK!

We have the fewest 1 run game wins in MLB. Next are the Yankees and Cards with 8 of them. Every other team in the NL East has 12 or more and they all have winning records except Florida with is 12-13.

Mets are 14-5. The Mets are the ONLY team in MLB with less than double digit losses. 1 team has 10 losses and 2 teams have 11. The Mets have 7 less 1 run losses than 26 other teams in baseball.

Our pitching has sucked, but this is some pretty bad luck. And it makes me feel better that Gordon is back. Hopefully Myers will be back soon too.

Hard to win 1-run games when you win by 6+

By that logic, shouldn't it also be hard to lose 15 1-run games?

Not when the bullpen can't close out games or blows it in extra innings

7/19 - 1-0 at San Diego
7/18 - 5-4 at Los Angeles
7/6 - 7-6 at Colorado - one strike away, tying HR by Hawpe off Alf in the 9th
7/3 - 5-4 at Houston - blown DP call by 1st base ump with 2 outs in the 9th

6/29 G1 - 6-5 vs New York - was 6-1 but couldn't complete comeback
5/30 - 4-3 vs Arizona - was 4-0 heading to the bottom of the 9th
5/28 - 5-4 vs Arizona - was 5-1 heading to the bottom of the 9th
5/24 - 5-4 at Florida - extra-inning loss off Rosario
5/17 - 3-2 vs Milwaukee - made a comeback and Burrell almost tied it in the 9th
5/8 - 3-2 at Arizona - Clark HR off Eaton after tying the game
5/7 - 4-3 at Arizona - battled back twice and gave the lead right back
5/2 - 4-3 at Atlanta
4/20 - 2-1 at Cincinnati - Hatteberg tying HR off Gordon with 2 outs in the 9th
4/18 - 5-4 at Washington - extra-inning loss off Rosario
4/4 - 3-2 vs Atlanta - McCann 2-run HR off Gordon in the 9th

They should be 10-11 without the blown saves, or over .500 if you take out some of the comebacks that made games closer than they actually were. On the other hand, some of those 1-run wins shouldn't have been there either...especially that stupid Florida game where Myers got hurt. Damn you, Barajas!

youre gonna have ridiculous losses no matter what. its silly to look back at them and say what could have been. theyre there regardless.

Howard's greedy 2-run homer means the Phils still stink in 1-run games.

... to team ops-allowed of 807.

if i'm reading things correctly, just 3 members of the current pitching staff have ops-allowed numbers higher than that with the phillies this year. that says a lot about the guys who aren't on the staff at the moment.
we should be carefully about blaming the present bullpen for the season's record in 1-run games, or the present pitching staff for the bad numbers of the whole season.

bullpen:
mesa 633
romero 661
madson 679
zags 755
gordon 776 (and falling fast)
alf 793 (and rising!)
condrey 836 (and dropping)

rotation:
hamels 738 (falling)
kendrick 773
durbin 828 (and falling)
eaton 858
moyer 806 (rising)

You say this like there aren't 9 innings to play. Our win last night can be debatable that it shouldn't have been. We earned the loss today.
