Roberson has been recalled. The only question is: does this mean Vic is headed to the DL?

Dare O dare I say this, but might Golson be up by the end of the season???

Roberson or Golson??

I understand a 3rd outfielder is a huge difference than a 5/6th bench guy...

Golson is not major league ready. If they bring him up he has to be put on the 40 man, and one of his options years will be spent. Now isn't Golson Time.

he's still super raw, but if he continues to tear up AA what's and we still have injuries, would you honestly rather Roberson, if he is still here, or Golson who has been tearing it up for months right threw AA

Greg Jacobs .375/.556/.931 YAY
Chris Roberson .311/.356/.667 BOO

You can put Matt Smith on the 60 day DL to move Greg in the 40 man roster.

Why not just DFA Condrey now? He's leaving Thursday anyway.
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

If they send him down now, he doesn't even have to be DFA'ed, he's already cleared waivers.

why, he'll be back by September. Condrey doesn't have that many options.

Yes, but he didn't last time, since he was already outrighted post-waivers at least once. I'm guessing the thinking goes he wouldn't this time.

Jacobs is the guy who I wanted to see given a chance. It never ceases to amaze me how hard it is for guys like him to get a chance. It makes the Coste story all the more unlikely. Jacobs, unless he can't hit curveballs or something, is probably a better hitter than Coste.

Agree on not major league ready and therefore a perhaps unwise use of 40 man roster.
That said, if he stays on the roster the whole time, I'm pretty sure his option year will not be used up. This is why sometimes transaction people advocate bringing up a prospect in September or August that would need to be added to the 40 man roster that winter anyway - it doesn't cost the option. I could be wrong though.
