Kalas on WIP [must listen]

If you have not heard this yet, you must listen as Harry talks with the 610 morning zoo crew (2/5) about his career and play his first ever MLB call (along with a bunch of other great calls and Ashburn memories).

I am ready for baseball now.

Thanks. I heard them say he was going to be on but completely forgot about it.

good stuff. I liked to hear Kalas say that he bites his lip rather than question a management decision. Then he goes on to say that Ashburn would ask questions sometimes.

I also liked the story about the hooker asking Harry and Richie what they wanted done, she would do anything they wanted for $100 (listen to the broadcast for the story).

Great interview. The call from the visually impaired fan was very moving.

That's the first time I ever heard that story. I laughed out loud. Harry is a national treasure and I miss Whitey every day during baseball season.

Did you feel this way after watching the Puppy Bowl on Sunday on Animal Planet?

I didn't know he did that. I'm not sure if you're being serious or not, but Kalas probably pwned doing that, as well.

Yes, that was our very own Harry the K doing play by play for the Puppy Bowl. I felt kind of embarrassed for him. But I guess the paycheck was nice.

That song was pretty awful. Otherwise, it was a surprisingly good interview considering it was Cataldi, thanks!

Anyone bought the CD they were advertising along with the interview? 1 was talking about it (http://www.backshegoes.com/bsg/viewtopic.php?t=3966&highlight=) a little while back.

They announced in the interview that the CD http://www.baseballvoices.com/html/harry_kalas.html was available now at the Phillies Majestic store. Might swing by one of these mornings on the way to work and pick it up.
